Emily Adams, soprano

Emily Adams is a soprano based in Atlanta, GA, but born and raised in Southern Louisiana. She is well known for her youthful yet powerful and passionate interpretations of bel canto coloratura roles as well her versatility amongst lyric repertoire. 

 

Engagements for 2026 will be Capitol City Opera's I puritani and her debut as Elvira Her most recent completed engagement was her role in Sarasota Opera's Winter 2026 Studio Artist Program covering Leonora in Verdi's Il trovatore under the baton of Stephano Teani and Verdi specialist Maestro Victori DeRenzi in his final year of conducting. Mrs. Adams will also be returning as an Emerging Artist in Jennifer Rowley's Aria Bootcamp in August 2026. 

Engagements for 2025 included Mrs. Adams' winning performance in the Georgia District of the Metropolitan Laffont Competition in November. In August, Mrs. Adams was a participant of renowned spinto soprano Jennifer Rowley's Aria Bootcamp as an Emerging Artist.​ In May 2025, she debuted Elisabetta in Roberto Devereux with Capitol City Opera in Atlanta, GA & performed two full length recitals with Atlanta Opera pianist, Valerie Pool. Mrs. Adams is on faculty as a voice, piano teacher at Hawk Music Academy, LLC, as well as an Office Assistant, Marketing and Graphic Design Specialist for the company.

The 2024-2025 season included Bach's Magnificat with Emory Presbyterian in Decatur, GA, under the baton of Justin Han; Lucia di Lammermoor with Capitol City Opera; and the Vivaldi Magnificat with Trinity Lutheran in Marietta, GA. February 2024 allowed Mrs. Adams to perform Milhaud's Chansons de Ronsard, originally written for French coloratura soprano Lily Pons with the Georgia State University Orchestra and Dr. Tamara Dworetz on the podium. In November of 2024 she was awarded the Encouragement Award for the Georgia Division of the Metropolitan Opera Eric and Dominique Laffont Competition.

Engagements in 2023-2024 included her debut of Die Königin der Nacht (Die Zauberflöte) with Harrower Opera Theatre in Atlanta, GA. That same May, she was the graduate winner of the prestigious Opera Guild of Atlanta's Scholarship Competition. She was an Emerging and Studio Artist in St. Petersburg, FL, covering the titular characters of Handel's Alcina and Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor with St. Petersburg Opera under Maestro Mark Sforzini
